In the course of the afternoon, you will be picked up in Kiruna by a comfortable transfer and taken to your own lodge. Naturally, we will coordinate the exact time with you so that it fits seamlessly with your travel plans. Upon arrival, we will show you the way to your wooden accommodation by the water. This way, your stay begins in peace and quiet, with the frozen lake as your new backyard.

Your own wooden home in the snow

Our lodges offer the perfect balance between simplicity and comfort. Whether you are a party of four or a larger group of up to eight, each lodge features a private kitchen and comfortable beds. You can stay here for €60 per person per night (transfers by arrangement).

Lodge for 4 people This cozy cabin is suitable for up to 4 people. It features a bunk bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room that can sleep two extra guests. A compact kitchen is equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, freezer, stovetop, toaster, and French press, as well as pots, pans, and all necessary kitchen utensils. This cabin has a private bathroom with a toilet and shower inside. On the lovely veranda, guests can relax and enjoy the picturesque view of the lake, offering a charming spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the peaceful view of the lake, whether bathed in sunshine or covered in snow. The accommodation also offers a wood-fired sauna and a fireplace.

Op de heerlijke veranda kunnen gasten ontspannen en genieten van het schilderachtige uitzicht op het meer, of het nu baadt in de zon of bedekt met sneeuw. At the Private Lodge, you decide the menu yourself. Each cabin is equipped with a kitchen where you can prepare your own breakfast, lunch, or dinner in peace. Although the tranquility at the lodge is tempting, this location serves as the ideal starting point for all our tours. From here, you can head out immediately for an impressive dog sled ride or a horseback ride through the surrounding forests. But don't forget the 'smaller' adventures either: put on your snowshoes for a walk across the frozen lake, or simply wait for nightfall to spot the Northern Lights above the open ice from your own veranda.

Snowmobile tour 32 km

Swap civilization for the endless white plains of Swedish Lapland. This 3-hour tour begins on the frozen Lake Altajärvi, the ideal place to master the intricacies of snowmobiling under the guidance of an experienced guide.

As soon as you feel comfortable on the machine, we head deeper into the wilderness. You will ride through snow-covered birch forests and across vast frozen lakes. Along the way, there is a good chance of spotting reindeer or even a moose roaming through the trees. Halfway through the trip, there is a moment to switch drivers, so that everyone can enjoy both the thrill of riding and the impressive views as a passenger.

What you need to know:
Hours: Daily from 09:00 – 12:00
Duration: 3 hours of pure adventure (excluding transfers).
Included: Warm thermal overalls, boots, gloves, helmet, and professional instructions.
Important: A valid driving license (car, moped, or motorcycle) is required to drive yourself.

Husky Adventure: Drive your own dog team (4.5 hours)

There is no sound as pure as the gliding of a wooden sled over the crunching snow. During this day tour, you will step behind the sled yourself for an unforgettable journey through the snowy forests and along the River Torne.

After a warm welcome, you are outfitted with professional polar clothing. Following extensive instruction, you are introduced to your own team of enthusiastic dogs. As soon as the starting signal is given, silence falls and you are pulled along through the glittering landscape. You share the sled with a travel companion, and halfway through the journey you switch positions: one steers, the other enjoys the view.

During the break, we settle down around a crackling open fire in a traditional tent. Here, you enjoy a freshly prepared hot meal while the guides tell you about life with the dogs in this Arctic climate.

Duration: Approximately 4.5 hours (including transfers and lunch).
Included: warm clothing and shoes, hot lunch by the campfire, and all transfers.
Experience: No experience required; our guides will lead you step by step.

Snowshoeing through Arctic Nature (3 hours)

Experience the ultimate tranquility of Lapland during a guided snowshoe hike. Where you would sink immediately into the deep powder snow with ordinary shoes, our professional snowshoes give you the freedom to reach places that would otherwise remain inaccessible.

The trek takes you through a fairytale landscape of dense, snow-covered forests and across vast frozen swamps, where the silence is almost palpable. Along the way, we pass various panoramic viewpoints offering breathtaking views of the Lappish wilderness. You will discover traces of wild animals and see how nature survives in these extreme conditions.

What you need to know:
Times: The expedition starts at 10:00 AM and we will be back around 1:00 PM.
Included: Use of high-quality snowshoes and poles, a hot drink, and a snack by the fire.
Level: Suitable for everyone with a normal basic fitness level. There are various routes for every fitness level.

Clothing: Ensure you have warm, windproof clothing and sturdy winter boots.

Ice fishing on Lake Altairvi

Experience one of the most beloved traditions of the far north: ice fishing. Just a few steps from your lodge lies the vast, frozen Lake Altajärvi. Here, you can enjoy nature in peace while waiting for the perfect catch.

We provide you with complete equipment to head out onto the ice like a true 'local'. We supply you with a manual ice drill to make your own hole, two special ice fishing rods with bait, and of course, a bucket for your catch. To stay comfortable and warm, you are given soft reindeer hides to sit or lie on while enjoying the amazing view.

In the pure waters of Lake Altaijarvi, you can catch various fish species, including perch, pike, trout, or the local whitefish that is abundant here. A wonderfully meditative activity for a free morning or afternoon.

Ice Sculpting & Ice Hotel (5.5 hours)

Visit the birthplace of the world-famous Icehotel and immerse yourself in a world of ice and art. This day strikes a perfect balance between creativity, culinary delight, and admiration for craftsmanship.

The day begins artistically with an Ice Sculpting workshop. Under the guidance of a professional ice artist, you will learn how to carve your own artwork from a crystal-clear block of ice from the Torne River. It is a fascinating process in which you discover how this ephemeral material can be shaped.

After the workshop, it is time to warm up during an extensive lunch in the atmospheric, warm restaurant. Here, local ingredients are transformed into refined dishes. After lunch, you have plenty of time to admire the magical rooms and ice sculptures in the Icehotel on your own and to visit the iconic Icebar.

The program:
10:30 – 12:30: Ice Sculpting Workshop (with instructor).
12:30 – 14:00: Hot lunch in the restaurant.
14:00 – 16:00: Visit to the art suites of the Icehotel on your own.

Clothing: For the workshop, you will be standing in a cooled room; therefore, warm clothing is essential indoors as well.

Moose Safari on Horseback (5.5 hours)

Follow in the footsteps of the king of the forest during a unique safari on Icelandic horses. We ride through a beautiful winter landscape towards our farm, through an area known as the wintering grounds of the moose. We often spot the first animals along the road to the starting location.

At the farm, we prepare the horses for a ride through the deep snow of the forests. Because we are on horseback, the moose accept our presence much more easily than if we were to arrive on foot or by machine. This gives you a rare opportunity to admire these impressive animals up close in their natural habitat. For enthusiasts, if the ground permits, we attempt the unique gait of the Icelandic horse: the 'tölt'.

After the ride, we will sit down for a well-deserved, warm lunch at the farm before taking you back to your accommodation. This tour proudly bears the ecotourism label, which means we operate with the utmost respect for the animals and nature.

Times: From 09:20 to 14:50 (available from December 1 to April 4).
Included: Guidance by an experienced guide, riding helmet, warm outerwear, extensive lunch, and transfers to and from Kiruna.
Experience: Driving experience is not required, but good physical health is.
Conditions: Minimum age 12 years, maximum weight 90 kg.

The tour will take place with a minimum of 2 people.

Wildlife safari by snowmobile (5.5 hours)

Join us on an impressive expedition through the mountains and forests surrounding the Kalix River. This safari is much more than just a snowmobile ride; it is a quest for the 'Big Five' of the far north and an introduction to the ancient Sami culture.

On modern snowmobiles, we trek through the mountain forests, the winter grazing grounds of the moose. There is a good chance we will spot the 'king of the forest' here in the wild. Also keep your eyes open for the capercaillie, Europe's largest forest bird, or the ptarmigan flying around here in its white winter coat. As soon as we pass the tree line, the landscape opens up and you are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Arctic tundra.

During the trek, our local guide shares stories about the history of the area and the daily life of modern reindeer herders. We look for traces of the elusive mountain predators, such as the wolverine and the lynx. Their footprints in the snow tell the story of the previous night's hunt. You conclude this eventful day with a late lunch, enjoying typical local dishes as the Arctic twilight slowly falls over the mountains.

Sápmi Culinary Adventure (5.5 hours)

Embark on a sensory journey through the rich traditions of Sami cuisine. During this unique day, you will not only learn about the food of the locals but also prepare an authentic meal yourself using ingredients sourced directly from the Arctic nature.

We travel towards the mountains and the Kalix River. Here, we spend most of the day in a traditional goahti (Sami hut), sitting around the crackling fire. Under guidance, you will learn the tricks of the trade: bake your own gáhkku (traditional Sami bread) over the open fire, make the special 'coffee cheese,' and discover how various types of meat and fish are prepared in an age-old manner.

As the aromas of the meal fill the cabin, we share stories about the culture, the deep connection with nature, and the way people here have lived off what the land has to offer for generations. We end the day by enjoying the home-cooked meal together in the comfort of the cabin.

Sápmi Reindeer Adventure (4 hours)

Step into the world of the reindeer herder and experience the centuries-old way of traveling through the Arctic landscape. Reindeer are the soul of Lapland, and during this tour, you will get to know these special animals in a very personal and respectful way.

You start the day by meeting and feeding the reindeer, learning all about their behavior and their crucial role in nature. Afterwards, you get ready for an authentic sleigh ride. You take a seat in a wooden sleigh, pulled by a reindeer, and glide at a leisurely pace through the snowy forests and across the frozen fields. This is not a fast race, but a meditative journey where you truly feel the connection with nature and the animal.

After the ride, we seek warmth in a traditional tent (lávu). Around the crackling fire, you will enjoy a delicious hot lunch with local specialties, while the guide tells you about the traditions of reindeer herding and the challenges of life in the far north.
