Arrival & Taste of Sápmi

You will be picked up in Kiruna in the morning for the transfer to the Sami farm by the Kalix River. You will dive straight into the depths of Sami culture. No quick lunch, but an interactive workshop where you learn to cook over an open fire.

As the aromas of traditional ingredients fill the goahti, the guide tells you about life with the reindeer and the centuries-old traditions of the North. It is the perfect, peaceful preparation for the magical horseback ride that follows later that day.

Day 1: Transfer, Sami Cooking workshop, Lunch, and Northern Lights ride on horseback.
Day 2: Breakfast, dog sled ride, and departure for your next Pippin adventure.

Sleeping on the Sami farm

You will spend the night at the authentic Sami horse farm, away from the crowds and in the heart of nature. The guesthouse is simple yet warm and comfortable, exactly how a Scandinavian 'home away from home' should feel. Here, you won't be woken by an alarm clock, but by the serene silence of the mountains and the enthusiastic howling of the huskies ready for a new day.

You will stay in a cozy, shared guesthouse with multiple bedrooms on the farm grounds, which can accommodate up to eight explorers. Although the atmosphere is authentic and simple, you will want for nothing: there is a clean toilet and shower available for shared use.

After the horseback ride, you can fully relax in the traditional wood-fired sauna, an essential part of life in the far north. Evenings at the farm revolve around togetherness, whether you are sharing stories by the stove or enjoying the silence under the stars together.

Flavorful Sápmi over the open fire

Lunch: Together with the guide, you will prepare an authentic Sami lunch over a crackling fire in the goahti during the interactive workshop. You will learn how to transform local ingredients, such as fresh reindeer meat or fish, into a traditional dish.

Dinner: After the magical Northern Lights horseback ride, you will sit down for a nutritious dinner at the farm. In the warm atmosphere of the accommodation, we will discuss the day's adventures while the guide tells you more about Sami customs.

Breakfast: The next morning, a hearty farm breakfast awaits you at the guesthouse. A good foundation for the energetic dog sledding trip.

Lunch: During the dog sledding, they will stop for lunch.

Coffee, tea, and water are available free of charge all day at the guesthouse.

Sami culture and beautiful tours

Day 1: From the cooking pot to the ancient forest

After your transfer to the farm, your adventure begins

Time: 9:20-14:50: Traditional cooking in Sápmi: Your adventure begins with an interactive dive into the culture; we prepare a traditional lunch together over an open fire.

Time: 15:50-end: You prepare the Icelandic horses for the ride. On a winter evening, you take a trek through the centuries-old forest, nestled against the impressive mountain range. During the ride, you look for moose, and we hope that the magical Northern Lights color the sky above the mountains.

Upon returning to the farm, you enjoy a dinner featuring local specialties such as game or fish. The guide tells you stories about Sami culture while you warm up around the fire in the goahti (Sami hut).

Day 2: Become your own musher

End time: approx. 14:30
After breakfast at the farm, a new adventure awaits. You will set out with the huskies, where you will have the unique opportunity to steer your own sled. During this tour, you will enjoy an outdoor lunch. After the trip, we will arrange the transfer back to Kiruna.
